Srinagar: Moderate snowfall near the Banihal tunnel and adjoining area's on Saturday forced the authorities to partially close the 297 km Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Reports reaching here said that Banihal area experienced moderate snowfall on Saturday rendering the road link unsafe fora heavy vehicular traffic. Administration allowed passenger and light vehicles to proceed towards their destination, however cargo trucks were not allowed to ply.
According to the Traffic control room, vehicular traffic on the highway will remain suspended on Sunday till improvement in road condition.
