India using coercive methods to engage us in talks: Geelani

Rameez Bhatt:
Srinagar: Accusing New Delhi of using coercive methods to engage the pro-freedom leadership in talks, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani Thursday alleged his led Tehreek-Hurriyat and Hurriyat Conference was being “targeted” for the purpose.
“The government and its occupying forces are targeting Tehreek-I-Hurriyat and All Party Hurriyat Conference. Our party leaders and cadres are being arrested and sent to Jammu jails were they are subjected to atrocities. By hook or crook, India, state government and the forces want to crush us. This drama is aimed to make the pro-freedom leadership bow before the Indian might,” Geelani said, while addressing a news conference at his Hyderpora residence this morning.

“However, I assure my nation, my beloved youth that we’ll not bow down, and will continue our fight against the oppression and occupation,” he added.

The pro-freedom leader also reiterated call for post-Friday prayers against the continued arrest spree and the human rights violations.
