Bureau Report:

Pulwama, 5 January: In keeping with the spirit of facilitating active co-existence and building a crucial interface for marginalized youth to comprehend issues relating to conflict, security, nonviolence and peace building in Pulwama District, the Army has been actively involved in supporting the local population in close co-ordination with civil administration in various developmental activities.
The Army has conducted medical camps and veterinary camps in various remote villages of Pulwama District.  It has also been actively interacting with the youth through various activities such as cricket and volleyball tournaments to encourage active sportsmanship among the youth and identify hidden talent for sponsorship.
The Army has also established a YEGN (Youth Employment and Guidance Node) at Army Goodwill School, Ahgam to provide a platform with limited material support to the youth of Pulwama District to strengthen their capacities and to create awareness which will lead them to take an informed decision on their future.
In addition to these activities, the Army has been routinely involved in providing assistance to the locals in facilitating their redressal of their grievances with the civil administration for basic needs such as road, water and electricity.  The Army has also played the role of a good Samaritan in natural calamities such as floods and heavy snow fall by rescuing   and assisting many locals.
