New Delhi: United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairman and Congress president, Sonia Gandhi on Sunday said there is a need to understand the reason behind violence in Kashmir and answers behind the alienation of Kashmiri youth.
'We have to find an answer in Jammu and Kashmir why an entire generation that has witnessed nothing but violence is feeling isolated. We should look at it,' she said. adding, 'we should understand the reason behind violence'.
Gandhi was addressing party leaders and workers during the 83rd Congress plenary being held at New Delhi.
She said that the dialouge path to resolve political problems should be kept open and the appointment of interlocutors for the state was a step forward to this process.
"Doors to dialogue should be kept open for political resolutions. We have appointed interlocutors and we want to do this," she said.
