Crime Website to be launched soon: DGP....

Jammu, December 18: Director General of Police, Mr. Kuldeep Khoda disclosed that Jammu and Kashmir Police would soon launch a website with full details of crime related cases and progress made thereon vis-a-vis their detection and control. He added that this would ensure greater transparency in the functioning of Crime Wing of the Police Organization.
            The DGP was chairing a review meeting of Crime Wing of the department at Crime Headquarters here today. He said that the Website would largely facilitate in getting feed back about the crime which shall, in turn, help the Crime Wing in controlling the crime. He impressed upon the investigating officers to ensure prompt investigation of crime cases by following the standard rules, regulations and procedures so that every case is brought to its logical conclusion and challans presented in the courts without any delay.
            Mr. Khoda asked the investigating agencies to optimally utilize the latest technology and scientific methods for prevention and investigation of crime as well as strict and regular monitoring progress thereon. He said these agencies need to be equipped with sophisticated technology for fruitful and speedy disposal of investigation to benefit the public. He said that investigating agencies should cooperate with each other and dovetail in to the crime networking. He said that criminals are changing their strategy using latest method for committing crime and the investigating agencies would have to acquaint its officers with effective techniques of investigation.
The DGP stressed that our focus should be on constant up gradation and utilization of the latest technology to further strengthen the co-ordination with other wings of the department to bring progressive improvement in the functioning of the force.
            Mr. Khoda asked the officers to arrange special training courses for the investigating officers in latest techniques of investigation and urdu reading and writing. He said that cyber crime has posed a great challenges in the present times and the investigators would be trained in techniques to expertise them in the field of cyber crime investigation. To check the activities of inter-state crime networking, the intelligence agencies would have to sensitize its working and keep the record updated, he added. He assured the meeting that every support would be provide to Crime Wing to strengthen crime investigation system in the State.
            Earlier, the Inspector General of Police, Raja Aijaz gave a detailed resume of the activities of Crime Wing and briefed the meeting about the future plans of this important wing of the department.
            Among others, the meeting was attended by Inspector General of Police, Sheikh Owais Ahmed, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Administration) PHQ, Mr. Alok Puri, Director Telecommunication, Mr. A. S. Bali, Deputy Inspector General of Police, J&K Crime, Mr. Yoginder Koul, AIG (Personnel), Mr. N. D. Wani, SSP Crime Jammu, Mr. Johny William, SSP Crime Kashmir Branch, Mr. Abdul Gaffar, AIG (CIV), Mr. Firdous Iqbal, Joint Director Prosecution, Mr. M. A. Zaroo, Additional SP Crime, Jammu Branch, Mr. Ranjit Singh, Chief Prosecuting Officer (PHQ) Mr. Aijaz Ahmed and other police officers.
